Hey you Funker! It's young Irish guitar player called Ed Deane he was a remarkable talent for such a young guy - bit older now of course. He was left handed but also had his strings upside down as if he had just spun a normal right handed guitar around when he was learning to play and stuck with it!

I always loved this song. I met Frankie a couple of times at shows in Switzerland. But in the last couple of years I never heard anything of Frankie. Does anybody know what he's doing these days? I just hope he's well...

sounds alot like Bob Seger's "Fire Down Below"
lol so who came out with their song first?
Frankie. Joe Walsh ... ( 8 months ago by luvabahs)
Frankie. Joe Walsh and Glen Frey are BIG fans of Frankie, Frey sang backup on Ramblin' Gamblin' Man -- you get the idea of the path from FM to Bob. Everybody in the music business pinches (if Should I Stay or Should I Go ain't the chord changes to Little Latin Lupe Lou, I'll kiss your a@#), at least Bob had the sense to choose the best.
God Bless Frankie, he's a hell of a man for not cashing in his chips and living with the hand he got dealt....

Seger stole it and was sued. In order to settle it Seger recorded "Ain't Got No Money" which not only gave Miller a lot of money in royalties but also showed everyone where "Fire Down Below" came from.

These guys are great! But I still like Seger's version better. FM needs more recognition...a musicians' musician. Rockers' rocker.

Its Frankie's song dude. He wrote it and Big Bad Bob covered it.
I love Seger's version, but that is the original version you are listening too. Frankie Rocks.

I like both Seger and Miller - both have great voices and soul. Interesting note - in a 1978 interview with Rolling Stone, Seger, when asked who his favorite singer was, answered Frankie Miller.
