Hmmm.... let's ... ( 7 months ago by malachitransfer)
Hmmm.... let's think about this for a moment. Music comes from a person or group of persons (as do movies) so... if these things and people exist and the visual and audio content is no longer profitable what will still make those people money... it's called MERCHANDISING. This is a war. It's a war that can't be won. When these things happen you have to adjust and change. The economy is what has to change NOT the people. It's ridiculous. These people make money on more then cds and videos.
it's impossible, in ... ( 7 months ago by malachitransfer)
it's impossible, in other words, to keep people from getting any video or audio for free. It has been rendered as valueless media. So the only solution for the video/music companies is to create multiple sources of revenue. It's retarded. These people aren't running out of money and they have more then one way of making money. End of story. Free media is a good thing. Saying it's theft is not. If you want money, expand your horizons. It's the economies responsibility to change accordingly.
And physical ... ( 7 months ago by malachitransfer)
And physical material record and film industries are most certainly not growth industries. Merchandising shows far more value in this day and age then record sales and people actually want merchandise. This is the end of the story. billions of people will always download for free. You can't punish them all, and to continue doing so to those you do catch is totally obscene and unfair. Its time for the markets that are complaining to swallow their damn pride and adjust their sales in conjunction.
That guy's an idiot ... ( 7 months ago by dodopod)
That guy's an idiot! He apparently doesn't realize that copyright (even music copyright) expires 100 years after the artist dies, which is true for 80% of classical music.

when you steal ... ( 5 months ago by noobatlife)
when you steal something from a store there is 1 less then that the store can sell. when you COPY a file, you are creating a duplicate.. thats not stealing. thats copying.. and its wrong to compare downloading a song and stealing a cd because they are completely different. I would bet that a large percentage of shit that people download is stuff they would never normally by. its not fair to say that if downloading didnt exist that consumption would be the same.. and then use that to inflate loss

That lawyer guy is ... ( 1 month ago by GM3210)
That lawyer guy is one the HUGEST douches i've ever seen.....all he did was spew the same crap i've heard from the recording/media industry since the Napster days: "It's wrong, and these people are criminals, and they shouldn't do it....so we're going to have to sue them and take other measures to protect OUR(not the artist's, but their) property....blah, blah blah."
It's also funny to ... ( 1 month ago by GM3210)
It's also funny to hear that same guy make it seem that the kids/teens are learning it from their parents and copying them(as if younger people couldn't do stuff like this on their own or come up with such thoughts.)
Those comments alone show how the industry really feels: They could care less about what media the younger set wants and how they want it delivered.....they just want to get poid HUGE sums of money for doing next to nothing(The artist(s)/creator(s) does/do most of the work.).
I Dont download ... ( 1 week ago by shonarkan)
I Dont download Southpark episodes because the episodes are released and stored in FULL length on Southpark's main webpage. If it works for them, why not other media?
