| rory gallagher was an alcoholic who couldnt get onstage unless he was hammered, also, He wasnt amazing during the era he was big, there were other bands at the time far better. The thing I really dont like about rory though, he ended up with the whole fender fanclub fanbase for some reason, everyone I know who owns a strat loves this guy, everyone who doesnt like fender that I know, thinks he's a kook. |

| i think he can play just as well as page or anyone else...he just doesnt want to. like paul simon...he is a PHENOMINAL guitarist but it just doesnt work with the kind of music or style he performs. fast guitar just doesnt work with what they do. |

| no...im guessing that u dont play the guitar...playin guitar isnt about playing fast solos....its the way u communicate the music thru the guitar...bob dylan was an ok guitarist...but he couldnt improvise leads very well...and he didnt write riffs that convey the song to the listener...he did that thru his songwriting instead... |

| ive been playing for 5 years. and i completely agree that playing quickly isnt what defines a guitarist. thats what most kids dont get. i havent heard much of dylan but it sounds like he really knows the guitar...i guess he probably couldnt play as fast as page or clapton but i do think he is a bit above the average guitarist. |

| no offense to clapton and all his fans. i love clapton and his style of music, but he never had an original thought in his head about music. at best, compared to page and hendrix in the form of Rock n Roll, i would call his style mediocre :p. but cream was one heck of a band. |
