here is how to do it:
your in your house... no Pokemon... woot...
go on your PC and get the potion
continue through the game blah blah blah
now when you get your Pikachu BEFORE you battle with Gary use the potion on Pikachu 5 times battle and WIN
talk to Pikachu and he will like you
EDIT: i recommend that you use "all enemy Pokemon are affected with burn and sleep" code ( 0115E8CF ) to battle with Gary.
