This song is not bad at all, but it's weak if you see it as a single. And it was the albums name track. So it's a little weird. And True Blue was no selling out for Madonna. In fact, it was one of the biggest risks of her career, as she sounded way more mature than she did in Like a Virgin.

MTV & Madonna held a promotion for viewers to create their own video for this track back in the 80's. The winner's video was featured on air for awhile before this official video came out. I think the fan video was actually better.
