Everyone is misrepresenting what Nas was saying when he said Hip Hop Is Dead. Nas didn't blame it on Soulja Boy or crunk music. If people listened to the album Hip Hop Is Dead they'd know that.

soulja boy dosent have good lyrics. the rap song you quoted lyrics made since. soulja boy has a song called yaaaaaaayaaaa bitch. "a soulja boy can i get a autograp... yayyyyyaaaa bitch yayaaaaa". songs like this is why there saying hip hop is dead in my opinion its not like you said there are so many diffrent styles and calibers. but no doubt souja boy isnt a very good rapper he is an excellent hype man. and i respect him he gets his money and he makes any party i been too great.. but lyrics NO.

Hip Hop aint dead and soulja boy didnt kill it. Beacause soulja boy isnt even hip hop in ma ears, its jsut party music and great in that category but as Hip Hop u actually have to make SENSE and lyricism is a big part of it. My favourite artist, Masta ace has also flossin lyrics but they make sense and are lyrically advanced and complicated.This makes Soulja boy garbage and lil wayne in my opinion is garbage, since he sounds like a cracked out elmo and makes no sense not hatin just ma opinion
