the stooges were a ... ( 10 months ago by peace0ff)
the stooges were a boring 70s tard rock band.
fatima mansions were like an apocalyptic violent band that jolted everything like a blast of electricity. with keyboards, samples and all. they were pretty scary to watch on mainstream tv back in 89-92.

Hahahahaha!
You don't scare that easy?! What mainstream TV showed Fatima Mansions? Boring is subjective- if you ever meet Cathal Coughlan, ask him if the Stooges were an influence... 'Shake Appeal' and '1970'- you might like them- we both like this one...
mainstream tv = ... ( 10 months ago by peace0ff)
mainstream tv = wtbs in america. they had a show called "night tracks" every friday and saturday night from 10pm-2 am and they'd play fatima mansions, front 242, transvision vamp, depeche mode, primitives, schnitt acht, etc. etc. It was a hugely popular show in america. and a response to mtv getting more cheesey and stupid.

I don't worship fatima mansions and I don't necessarilly share his likes or dislikes. the music is as far from the stooges as possible. the guitars are much different as well. you have to remember that fatima mansions were around when front 242, ministry(who they covered), and other agressive keyboard based, fast guitar acts were big so that is what is actually coming off in their music.
if you search ... ( 10 months ago by peace0ff)
if you search youtube you can see some people with night tracks videos.
it became good around 87 and really good about mid 88- to late 1990.

What the hell does ... ( 4 months ago by HappyMons)
What the hell does that prove??! Your comment got a thumbs up and that means what exactly?
As I wrote before, it's all subjective. You don't like Stooges, even though you don't seem to know much about their stuff. So what? I don't care and it has no bearing on whether Coughlan and the others were influenced by them.
FUCKING LOSER, ... ( 4 months ago by peace0ff)
FUCKING LOSER, where does he say he was influenced by them? post the article. you know
w w w . blablabla dot cunt fatima was influenced by all the electronic stuff like ministry, front 242, sex pistol, etc. the stooges were NOTHING like fatima. i've heared many of their songs, it's just boring rock n roll trying to be artsy. rock is dead, get over it.

note i didn't say guitars are dead.
Why are you calling ... ( 4 months ago by HappyMons)
Why are you calling me names??!
I feel sorry for you, you can't even recognize the guitar you hear at the front of the mix... or the 30+ second guitar solo! This isn't a rock v. industrial argument, I looked up this song because I liked it, I even like Ministry's stuff, so I have no idea what you're drooling on about. Time to
lower the meds and/or move out of your parents, huh?
They sure REALLY ... ( 2 months ago by mantra3000)
They sure REALLY didn't know how to produce guitars these days - distorted guitars really. Here I think it sounds like Billy Idol more than like the Stooges or Ministry! Then came Butch Vig, who defined a new standard for rock (i.e. distorted) guitar sounds.
