actually, they already were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. the only band members to attend were, conincidentally, the two main members that are no longer part of the band: sammy hagar and michael anthony
as for why van halen originally split up, nobody really knows why, because all band members tell a different story.
the main thing is that diamond dave is once again the lead singer, and eddie and alex are a part of the band. michael will be missed wish they could work it out

1985-1992 were probably the best years to be in hard rock as far as commercial success and MTV exposure (Def Leppard, Poison, Guns 'N Roses, Metallica, etc).....and yet the Van Hagar era still fell pitifully short of Van Roth with album sales and tour attendance......maybe it's time all you sad Hagar apologists admit the truth -- David Lee Roth was a huge part of Van Halen's popularity......the facts are overwhelming and pretty hard to ignore.

In 1978 I bought their first self titled Album, and in 1981 I saw them in concert. These guys really Rocked back then. Eddie's guitar solo of Eruption was out of this fucking world.

Yeah, Michael Anthony is amazing man. He owns like 150 bass guitars, and I remember him having the Jack Daniels bass guitar, that one is killer. If Van Halen hadn't kicked him out, the ORIGINAL Van Halen - yes the Van Halen you see here would be rocking the entire fucking world to their knees today.
